There are various versions of how the chocolate chip cookie was created. In 1934 Mrs Wakefield who owned the Toll House Inn, Massachusetts was said to have added chocolate chips accidentally to cookie dough and created chocolate chip cookies. Nesle then acquired the Toll House recipe and their version is that Mrs Wakefield sold the recipe to Nestle for a lifetimes supply of chocolate chips. Whatever version is true, no one can argue with the result, a mouthwatering cookie!
